One local number for every ride in the weekend.

A Black Hills wedding is never one ride. It is guests landing in Rapid City on Thursday, the bachelorette dinner on Main Street, the run between the hotel and the venue on Saturday, and the trip back to the rooms at midnight when nobody should be driving. We run all of it, with a driver who already knows the road up to your venue in the dark. Text or call 605-717-1717.

Summer and fall Saturdays go first, and Rally week in August fills the whole area. The earlier you call, the more of your weekend we can hold.

Plan ahead

Tell us about your weekend.

Send us the dates, the venue and roughly how many are riding. Northern Hills Taxi comes back with a plan and a flat price for each run, so you know the total instead of watching a meter.

The wedding day

Most of a wedding day is the same handful of trips run over and over. Rooms to the venue before the ceremony, a car for the couple, pickups for the guests who would rather not drive a strange Black Hills road in good shoes. Give us the ceremony time and the address and we set the pickups so people arrive early instead of exactly on time.

Venues out at Terry Peak, up Spearfish Canyon, or off a forest road are where a local driver actually matters. Those are the roads we run every day, and we do not need the pin to drop before we know where we are going.

The last run of the night is the one worth booking in advance. When the reception ends at midnight, everybody wants a ride at the same moment. Reserved ahead, a Northern Hills Taxi driver is already assigned to that run instead of you hoping one is free.

Bachelor and bachelorette parties

Deadwood is built for this. Main Street is a few blocks long, the casinos and bars sit shoulder to shoulder, and the walk between them is short even when the walk back to the room is not. We bring your group in from the hotel or the rental, move you between stops if the night spreads out, and come back for you at the end of it.

Nobody in the group has to be the designated driver, and nobody is left waiting on a rideshare to decide whether it wants to climb a canyon road at one in the morning. If the night runs across Deadwood, Lead, Spearfish, and Sturgis, we will do the hops in between.

One practical note for a party night: late-night fares are collected up front. Card or cash, whichever is easier.

Rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, and the rest of the weekend

The rehearsal dinner, the welcome party, the morning-after brunch, the trip out to Mount Rushmore for anyone who flew in early. Same arrangement. Tell us the times and the addresses, and Northern Hills Taxi quotes each run.

None of this has to be attached to a wedding. Birthdays, reunions, company holiday parties, and a night out in Deadwood that just needs everyone home safely all work the same way.

Airport transportation for your guests

Most out-of-town guests land at Rapid City Regional (RAP). It is about 52 miles and an hour to Deadwood, roughly an hour to Spearfish, and about 40 minutes to Sturgis. We meet flights and run people and luggage straight to the hotel or the rental, and at the end of the weekend we time the departure runs to the flight rather than to checkout.

Send us the flight numbers and arrival times when you book. If several guests land at RAP within an hour of each other, we will put them on the same run, which is cheaper for them and one less thing for you to coordinate.

The individual airport routes and their drive times are on the Deadwood, Spearfish, Sturgis, and Belle Fourche pages if you want to send them to guests.

How we quote it

Every run is a flat price, quoted before the weekend, so the number you plan around is the number you pay. Your quote is the price: it does not go up for a late night, a holiday, or a busy weekend, and we do not run surge or peak pricing. We take cards as well as cash, and late-night fares are collected up front. If you book through the form on this page, a $10 card hold reserves the request. It is not charged until you accept the quote, and it comes off your fare.

Winter and shoulder-season weddings

Our cars are AWD and 4WD and kept ready for snow and ice, and our drivers know these grades in bad weather. If your date falls between November and April, tell us the venue when you book and we will tell you honestly what that road is like when the weather turns.

What to know

  • Book early. Summer and fall Saturdays fill first, and the first full week of August is the Sturgis Rally, when the whole area is spoken for.
  • Give us one contact. One name and number for the weekend beats ten people calling about the same run.
  • Send flight numbers. Not just arrival times. Flights move; flight numbers let us follow them.
  • Card or cash. We take both, and late-night fares are collected up front.
  • Have the venue address, not just its name. A street address gets a driver to Spearfish Canyon faster than a name we have to look up.
  • Road conditions: dial 511 or sd511.org.

Text or call 605-717-1717 or use the booking form on this page. Tell us the dates, the venue, and how many are riding, and we will build the weekend around it.
